A talented quarterback is often useless without elite pass catchers on the perimeter, which makes recruiting top-end wide receivers a priority for most college football championship contenders.Twenty-eightwide receiversmake up alarge portion of the Top247recruits in the 2025 classand so far only fiveof those are committed as the end of February dead period approaches.

LSU already snagged Duncanville (Texas) five-star wideout Dakorien Moore back inAugust as the future pairing with top-ranked quarterback and No. 1 overall recruit Bryce Underwood could be electrifying in Baton Rouge.Three of the top-10 wide receivers in the 2025 recruiting class are committed with Oklahoma and Oregon also securing elite pass catchers.

Recruiting visits will resume in early March with a long list of schools looking to try and lock in one of the availabletop wide receiversremaining in the 2025 cycle. So, where do things currently stand with the top-10 wide receiversin the upcoming class?

Measurables: 6-foot-1, 185 pounds

Notes:Oklahoma looks to land the top-ranked prospect in Missouri for the second time in the past three recruiting classes as the Sooners battle Oregon and Tennessee forLees Summit (Mo.) Lee's Summit North standout receiver Isaiah Mozee. As a junior last fall, Mozee topped 1,000 yards receiving while hauling in 74 passes for 12 touchdowns. He also scored another two touchdowns on the ground for the Broncos. Mozee has more than 2,300 total yards receiving in three seasons.

Notes:The Sooners already have in-state star Jaden Nickens locked in as a wide receiver commit for the 2025 class. The Oklahoma City (Okla.) Douglass standout spent his first two years of high school at nearby Millwood High. Nickens, who also owns power conference offers in basketball, picked Oklahoma over additional football offers from Arkansas, Missouri, Oklahoma State, Texas A&M, Texas Tech and others back in August.

Notes: Dallas Wilson is a longtime Oregon commit, making his move on the Ducks more than a year ago back in January 2023. However, his recruitment is still ongoing with Auburn, Florida, Kentucky, Michigan, Michigan State, Ohio State, Texas and Texas A&M offering since that decision. Wilson hauled in 49 passes for 872 yards and nine touchdowns as a junior at Tampa (Fla.) Bay Tech in 2023, helping the Titansreach the quarterfinals of the 3 M State Playoffs. He already earned a spot on the Polynesian Bowl roster for 2024.

Porter almost reached 1,000 yards receiving last season, grabbing 41 receptions for 969 yards and 16 touchdowns to lead the Crusaders to a New Jersey Non-Public A State Championship.

Notes:Three of the top-10 wide receivers in the 2024 recruiting class hailed from Alabama.Selma (Ala.) Southside standout Derick Smith looks tocontinue that trend of elite pass catchers. Smith is a nightmare for opposing defenses with more than 6,000 yards of total offense the past three seasons. In 2023, he caught 46 passes for 1,487 yards and 14 touchdowns, while also rushing for 1,036 yards and nine touchdowns on 65 carries for the Panthers. Smith also led Southside in total tackles (74), tackles for loss (15), sacks (11) and fumble recoveries (3) as a do-it-all contributor. His offer list includes Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, LSU, Miami, Michigan, NC State, Ole Miss, Penn State, South Carolina, Texas and others.

Marsh hauled in 65 passes for 1,158 yards and 15 touchdowns this past season for the Warriors. In three seasons, he tallied more than 2,400 yardsreceiving. Marsh also competes in track and field.

The 247Sports "Alpha Dog" at the National Combine in January, Ffrench caught 62 passes for 1,247 yards and 14 touchdowns as a junior, leading the Mustangs to the Florida 4 M State Championship Game. Ffrench is a brother of former Pittsburgh wide receiver Maurice Ffrench, who set the single-season program record for receptions (96) in 2019.

Notes:After two productive seasons as a freshman and sophom*ore, Kaliq Lockett posted a breakout campaign as a junior in 2023 with 1,299 yards receiving and 13 touchdowns on 59 receptions for Sachse (Texas). Notes:Duncanville (Texas) five-star receiver Dakorien Mooremade his commitment to LSU back in mid-August and eventually got an elite pairing with Belleville (Mich.) five-star quarterback Bryce Underwood in January. The duo could put up big numbers for the Tigers in the future. Moore hauled in 71 passes for 1,523 yards and 18 touchdowns as a junior in 2023. He also owns an impressive record in track, anchoring the Texas 6A State Championship 4x200-meter relay team for Duncanville. Moore also ran the third leg for the silver medal-winning 4x100-meter relay as a sophom*ore. He already earned a spot on the Polynesian Bowl roster for 2024.
